These terms are a contract between you (the parent, admin, or other user) and the operator of Schoolee, a UK-based service (the "Service"). By signing up or continuing to use Schoolee, you agree to these terms.
Schoolee extracts dates and deadlines from school PDF emails and makes them available to parents via a dedicated Google Calendar and a private iCalendar feed. We connect you to your school through one of our verified sign-up paths: entering a school-issued invite code, or accepting a direct invite from a school admin.
You must provide an accurate email address and keep it up to date. You're responsible for all activity on your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately at security@schoolee.app.
Schoolee is for parents and authorised school staff only. You must be 18 or over to hold an account.
Accounts start at Level 1 (basic access: event titles and dates). Level 2 (full event details, including trip locations) requires an invite code issued by the school, a direct invite, or approval by a school admin. This is a safeguarding control and is non-negotiable.
Schools may tighten or loosen sign-up methods (e.g. require admin approval for every new parent) at their discretion. We will always honour a school's current settings.
Schoolee extracts event data using a language model and is not infallible. You should treat Schoolee as a helpful companion, not a source of truth. Always check the original school communication for official dates and details. We are not liable for missed events, incorrect times, or incorrect locations arising from extraction errors.
The Service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules. Serious breaches may be reported to the school and, where warranted, to law enforcement.
You retain all rights to any email you forward to Schoolee. By forwarding, you grant Schoolee a limited, non-exclusive license to process the email for the purpose of extracting school events and making them available to you. We do not store the original email body or attachments after extraction (see the privacy policy).
If you're a school admin: you're responsible for ensuring parents you invite or approve have a legitimate relationship with your school. Misuse of admin privileges (e.g. inviting non-parents, approving unverified accounts to reveal location details) may result in your school being removed from the Service.
Schoolee is currently free for parents and schools. If we introduce paid features, we will notify users in advance and free features you already use will remain free unless we explicitly say otherwise.
You can delete your account at any time from /account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, attempt to compromise the Service's security, or go against any school's safeguarding posture.
On termination, we delete your personal data within 30 days as described in the privacy policy. Your Schoolee calendar in Google Calendar remains under your control — we do not touch it.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Schoolee's total liability arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) £100 or (b) the fees you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited under UK law.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these terms. If changes materially affect your rights or obligations, we will notify you by email before they take effect and give you the option to close your account. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
